Otis Dooda

Today Ms Sands asked us to post our book review on our blogs. My book is Otis Dooda. Otis discovers a lot of different things when he moves to his new home in New York City. He does really strange things with his friends. He is the only one in his family who gets in trouble all the time. Please feel free to comment on blog.

The tea party in the woods

Today we had to find a different book and answer the same 6 questions and answer them. I chose this book because I think that this book would be interesting for those people who are always happy and who love exploring new things. This book is about a girl who has to deliver her grandma's pie and she goes out in the woods by herself. As she is outside, she meets a lot of new friends and they help her to feel safe. The Cyber Smart Game

Today in Cyber Smart James taught a game that he created. We had a snakes and ladders game and also a generator. The spot that the dice landed we would have to press on the block and do the activity. My activity was to use 'Be Funky' and change your appearance. Here is my picture that I did to change my appearance.

Where were you born?

How far have some students travelled in their lifetime to reach WPS?

Sifa has travelled 1,750 kilometres all the way from Tonga to Waikowhai Primary School

Why do people make the choice to move to different countries?

Maybe so that they can raise there kids and so that their kids can come to school.
Is this a trend in NZ society? What does media tell us?
This happens a lot because some families over seas find that they can have a better future and that they can live in a better country. Some people do this because they know that after studying they probably might not have a chance to find a job.

I find the video a good video to those who are teasing and who are using racism about other peoples cultures or how different they are to other people. Please watch this video and see what you think.

Computers Computers Computers

Today in Cyber smart, we learnt where all the objects inside our computers came from. We had to look up on the internet what all the different objects are made of or what they are made in. We had to research about all of them around the world. My objects were speakers and computer keyboards. All these pins represent where about the objects are from.

Stop. Think. Report

Today our Cyber smart teacher James taught us how to react if someone said something nasty to us even if it didn't happen just yet. Here is a demonstration on how I would personally react. Here is a scenario I came up with. If someone actually commented something nasty, I would just straight away report it to someone who I know will listen to me. I will report this to my parents or to my teacher. 

This is about our Abstract Art slideshow. This is what we have been up to lately for Waikowhai 's Art festival. Our teacher gave us great ideas to make it happen. She made us use water crayon pastels, pastel and crayon to decorate our piece of art. We had also used Ms Sands specialized pencils to touch up and to add some pencil decoration. Comments skills

Hey there,

On Monday in our Cyber Smart class we had to search up some blogs from all over the country. We then had to look at the comments and then had to make them outstanding. While doing our comments we had to make sure that they were positive, helpful and thoughtful so that it could help people who are commenting make their own comments great.  As you can see, the senior syndicate has been working hard. Please feel free to comment and make sure you use your commenting skills:-)        

What to do before posting a comment

Today our cyber smart teacher James spoke to us about how to make your comment interesting or even things that you should be doing or posts that shouldn't be posted up. James reminded us to use our rubric before posting anything up so that we can see if our posts are interesting. It gave us a time to think about if we were posting interesting things up, or maybe if we were checking our work before posting it up

How to make our blog interesting

Wheels Day

On Wheels Day at school, everyone was able to bring a bike or scooter etc. The school had so much fun. I even learnt how to use Roller Blades, thanks to the help of my friends(and brother). I loved working together with the young Juniors on trollies. I would never forget this day in my life. I had so much duties to do that I needed a rest but instead I got to ride bikes, scooters, moon hoppers and much more. And I just want to make a quick shout out to all the Yr 6 leaders who put in a GREAT effort organizing it and made the day awesome. 

24hr Digital footprint

We did a Word Cloud on our History and then we had to copy and paste it in. We then had to answer the questions that our administrator. 

 Which sites do you spend the most times on?

The sites I spend the most time on is Google, typing club and you tube.

Do you think it would be different if you did this activity on a weekend?

If I did this in the weekends then there might not be a lot of things in my history like You tube or Google.

Why do you think Google comes up so much when you're looking through your history?

Because Google is always on your address like on your docs or slide.
